Pardon me for my ignorance but I had no idea SS had a depot there. The registered office of SS (Southern)'s still at Tadcaster but these premises are registered as food business premises with Warwickshire County Council

Could it be a depot? The search engine that gave me this address made mention of scintilla soft drinks.

How true this is i have no idea, but i have been told that the hump has another brewery in the south producing his beers, for the south of england only, as this saves on transport costs.

I've heard mention of another brewery as well. As a start, maybe those 'in the know' can tell us what is brewed at Melbourne Bros All Saints Brewery Stamford? Is it just the fruit flavoured beers?

Cheers

Yes, just the fruit beers. Mind, I've a suspicion that they're only bottled there so if anyone knows different I'd be pleased to hear from them.

That would only serve to double (or more) his beer production costs, and it wouldn't save any transport cost other than a relatively small number of artic loads a week.

ok see your point about production costs, its just the another brewery story crops up far to often and by people who ought to know.Could the hump own a southern brewery which is inactive at the moment, and just forms part of his property portfolio.

With the amount of property he owns, the answer has to be 'yes'! I'm assuming the rumours are in addition to the possible Oakwell Barnsley one and the one at Stamford? My guess is that if there is another one, it has to be historic - I can't see him being interested in anything modern.

According to website of Falcon Chambers H de Walden Estates v Samuel Smith (Southern) was a rent review case. Presumably refers to one of the London pubs Sams lease.

Thanks for that! I found the reference on Maitland Chambers website - so might be another case. The de Walden Estate seem to own a huge chunk of Marylebone - so it could either be the Duke of York or Dover Castle I guess.
