Humpfrey in Royal Visit?
« on: Sep 16 - 2009 »
I notice that Prince Richard, 2nd Duke of Gloucester paid an official visit to Robert Raikes's House in Gloucester last week. Now when you've just spent over 4.5 million quid doing up a pub and royalty drop in, wouldn't you think:-

a) you'd be in the front row to shake his hand?
b) there'd be a press release?
c) and free food and drink?

Well, yes unless youre a madman...and the longer this current regime goes on and the more bizarre it becomes you do tend to wonder if indeed he isn't wired up correctly.

Noticed that Guinness are using their 250 anniversary of brewing as part of their current ad campaign...well it was SS. 250th last year....f--k all, not a free pint or a poster or even a word spoken to their staff about it.

Cant help wondering if I will live long enough to see the fascinating documentary that WILL one day be made about the Smiths, their wonderful products, the fall of a once great empire and the man who just simply...would not listen.
Beware the toes you tread on today are not attached to the leg that supports the arse that you are gonna have to kiss tomorrow.

Not quite true, it was 250th of the OLd Brewery, not Uncle Sams. The Brewerty has had quite a few owners over the years.
