Sam Smith's on the telly
« on: Oct 9 - 2009 »
From the Morning Advertiser...

"Sam Smith?s goes centre stage

The inscrutable world of Sam Smith?s comes under the television spotlight on 12 October. BBC Yorkshire will look closely at the brewery?s operations in its 30-minute-long Inside Out. It?s only being shown in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire areas, but is viewable on iPlayers.

Can't wait.
Should be interesting to see from which perspective the BBC approach it. Will it be the super company that has shunned modernisation and maintained the old fashioned values & have a loyal and appreciative workforce or will it be the sh*t company with luddite values that has destoyed a town & a pub / brewery business.

I suspect that it will be the former.
Don't expect an interview with anyone from the company, especially Humph.

Well, now 'the cat's out of the bag', I can reveal that the producer behind the programme was in touch with me a while back, and is actually a member of this website. Although obviously I can't say who.

The idea being, that the 'BBC Inside Out' producer wanted to be able to contact certain members of this website to gain insider info with regards, to some of the more nasty things that have gone on - such as evictions.

I will have to get a copy of the show, and make it accessible to all at this website!  ;D

=======================

Monday 12/10/09, 19:30 on BBC One (Yorks & Lincs, Yorkshire only + this website later)

Jamie Coulson investigates the influence of Samuel Smith's brewery in his home town of Tadcaster.

Always in support of the Samuel Smiths Brewery - although very concerned about the current company strategy towards its staff and customers, as exercised by the Directors. We believe in promoting common sense, decency, compassion, fairness and compliance with company, employment and English law.

Yes I'll be watching that though I don't think any of the company will give an interview. What a surprise it would be if Humphrey himself came on the proggrame and gave everyone a real shock but I wont hold my breath.

I understand that one of the Yorkshire managers who took Sams to the tribunal is appearing. If so, it won't be a ''Sam Smiths are wonderful'' show!!!

Do we think that this programe will go ahead? If its going to give bad publicity will HS not try and get an injunction to stop it being aired.

From the BBC website the programme covers 3 items, Nuns moving to Yorkshire, Sams, and ''dark forces'' behind the miners strike. Sounds like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!!!

Only 10 minutes for Sams though so it wont be very detailed.

The BBC Inside Out programme sometimes returns to a topic, and also does an occasional 'special', broadcasted nationally - so fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, in anticipation of tonight's programme: http://www.youtube.com/samsmithsinfo

So if anyone has any 'Sams' related video at any time, which can be shared with the rest of us via YouTube - then  that would be great!  How about some footage of the Dray?

Sadly, the Inside Out programme didn't have enough time to give much of an overview of the fact that Humphrey's actions are causing harm and distress to many managers, staff and customers throughout the country.

Still I suppose it did hopefully start a 'media' ball rolling?

It was also sad to hear reported that dispite winning an unfair dismissal test case, the ex management couples verdict was now being disputed by the brewery.

It seems Humphrey is hell-bent on getting his own way - no matter what the expense!

If that is true - this website and it's domain (but no members database, or details) is for sale to you Mr Smith, for just ?25,000. This is a limited time offer - with no option to appeal!   ;)
