I tried my damndest to try and get to view the programme but unfortunately it was not available in our region...even went to the BBC i player site but cant watch it yet until they put it on for broadcast which will be "soon".

No doubt someone will have recorded it and will post it on youtube before the BBC do, well here's hoping.

just saw the programe,pity it wasnt in more depth,but as admin says,hope it gets the ball rolling,one good thing it will get humps back up,he hates anyone knowing his buisness

Yes exactly my feeling - it will have seriously annoyed Humphrey - especially the speculation about what he's worth!

I felt sorry for those people he has sacked two women(one of them owned that stable) were in tears and did'nt the other woman mention something about suicide. How can Humphrey be so heartless.

Thought BBC could have sourced a more up to date photo of Humphrey. It must have been 15 years old.
Next time I see him walking to work with his wellies on & carrying his briefcase (supermarket carrier bag) i will try & get a photo. Is it illegal to photo someone without their permission?

Bravo to Chris Metcalfe for speaking out against SSOB. No wonder the council tax is so high if Selby District Council are having every decision they make challenged by the Brewery. I don't recall him every objecting to work that John Smiths (S&N) or Bass (Coors) Breweries have done. He just picks on those that he thinks would find it difficult to fight back. The planning case at Aberford is miles away from Tad & quite honestly f#ck all to do with him in my opinion.

Watched the t.v. unfortunetly 10 minutes was,nt really long enough,but good luck to all you ex managers,its typical of Hump to appeal against the tribunal findings,remember those two who have been fighting Hump for 10 years over planning ! Pray he does,nt do it to the managers.But his endless amount of money why should he care how long it takes so long as HE wins and everyone else suffers.I really hope Hump is cursing with all this publicity,has any present manager been ordered not to watch the programme on Sams time !!!

What ever you think of Mr Smith after watching last night I got the impression that he is trying to preserve Tadcaster and not let it get spoilt by people building things that look unsitely. He owns most of the town and wants to look after it.

andrewtwelvetrees did you watch the same programme as the rest of us ? You saw the boarded up properties,the car park,I was in Tadcaster over 20 years ago on a training course with Sams,the car park is still the same,houses and business were boarded up,Hump is trying to preserve Tadcaster yeah right,he wants the Draconian period where everyone bows before him

i cant believe some of the quotes people come out with on this site, ''trying to preserve the beauty of Tadcaster'' i was also in Tadcater years ago and it looked like a little market town, like Bedale or Boston Spa, but Sams high rent prices and ridiculous terms and conditions drove people out and the properties were boarded up and have stayed like that ever since, it is like a ghost town, and why does Selby keep fighting these ridiculous battles using tax payers money, would it not be easier to have someone look more closely into the great mans affairs, after all there is more than one way to skin a cat (or weasel in this case). to all those managers surely you are fighting your cases on the wrong issues, its his buisiness to do with as he pleases, if he says cut staff hours then you have no choice but to do as he says, however he does not have the right to make you work more than 60 hours a week, nor does he have the right to make you break the law giving him the 5% surplus he demands, by robbing the customer of there legal pint
