More lambs to the slaughter??!!!!!
« on: Dec 8 - 2009 »
Well, next Monday (10 days before Christmas!!) we get our 3rd management couple this year - the previous ones being cast aside - in what should have been unfair dismissals - but as usual, Humph gets away with it, as he looks down at us meagre ants from his ivory tower, at Taddy Towers.

I've heard that (as usual) Humph has taken on a couple with minimum experience - so that he can take advantage of their naivety - before they too 'burn out' or realize that they have to work below the LEGAL minimal wage, just to keep the place running, and customers served.

And the place..

Nellies (The White Horse), in Beverley. The place were the last couple were sacked (allegedly) for not stealing the 5% Humphs demands you rob from his customers, and the couple before them was sacked because Humph didn't like the fact that the manger was several waist sizes above his - despite the fact the man did an absolutely fantastic job!

So here we go yet again?

The was a time when anyone would have begged to get the management job at the world famous 'Nellies'. Not any more.

I wonder how long this poor couple last before they wake up and smell the coffee. I can't blame them for wanting to take the job - but if only they knew!

I remember the last couple, "..oh we'll manage just fine thank you.", and, "..we get on great with Mr Smith".

Yeh right!  ::) ::)

I wonder if the new couple realize what they are letting themselves in for? I hear it was Ebeneezer Humps crazy idea to put the newbies in just before Christmas. How stupid could you possibly be? He may have lots of money, but can't have many brain cells - which means I'm much wealthier than him. Ha!

The new couple have to manage a gas-lit place with about 6 open fires, and about 8 public rooms on two floors, plus all corridors and 2 beer gardens. All I can say is 'good luck' to them!

Anyway, luckily Christmas may not be so bad after all. The pub across the road has just re-opened after an excellent traditional themed refurbishment. And although the prices are more, so is the selection - and it is professionally managed (free house) that will be open on Christmas and new years eve - long after Nellies have closed its doors! Bah Humbug!
