Question - are there any non white/english staff employed by the brewery?

Right to try and get things back on topic - since posting the original question, I've had a number of personal messages backing up my concerns. These individuals obviously want to guard their identities - but it would appear that Humphs makes employment decisions based on appearance of individuals.

It would see that because he can probably buy his way out of any situation, that he has little if any respect for obeying the law, if it doesn't suit him. However, he relies on the same English law, to defeat his enemies.

Here comes those words again..

Hypocrite - selfish - inconsiderate - greedy - spiteful..

Good job Humphs isn't Catholic (or is he?), otherwise the church would have install Humphs own personal confessional box and dedicated priest - otherwise no one else would get a look in. Second thoughts, I can't see him even being aware of his sins - ignorance is bliss!

If anyone is employed at Sam's, and has ethnic origins other than the typical white English, then please feel free to messenger me through the site, if you would rather not post. I'm not after individual details or names - just a general snapshot on whether the brewery is observing equal opportunity employment law.

I do agree to a point, that basic communications skills is a prerequisite. Otherwise there could be more than the usual confusion and frustration when dealing with public bar orders.

I need to add this to another of Humpreys good points:

He gives British jobs to British workers.

Think you lot are grasping at straws with this accusation. The brewery is in Tadcaster not Brixton, Bradford or Leicester.
Considering there are 6 no non white europeans in the town with a population of 7500 and 4 of them run their own business the brewery would find it difficult to employ foreigners.
We are fortunate to live in an area that has not suffered the influx of immigrants even eastern europe.

I take your valid point Tadfan - and I agree whole heartedly, British jobs for British workers.

I probably didn't phrase my question properly. Many UK  born citizens (not foreigners) have a skin colour other than white. And so I suppose I should have said that in area's such as London, is the Sam's staff (especially managers) a fair reflection of the general populous.

And please remember, this question isn't about nationality, it's about prejudices - and not limited to skin colour. I'm also refering to other visual or obvious attributes - such as body mass, etc.

Your county heritage and dialect is steeped in and benefits from the influx of immigrants and I must add invaders..Romans, Angles and Vikings...to name but three...

And just to bring the subject sort of back on track..."Where do you think us Brits acquired the art of "hopped beer" in the 15th Century from?
Sam Smiths (1758 and all that ) and indeed this website wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the influx of these enlightened immigrants.

Due to recent events the Chinese are not too popular at the moment.

I am new to this site. What you have said about people's attitude towards the Chinese cannot be true, I have not heard one person say anything against them.
