TV's Back in pubs?
« on: Jan 19 - 2010 »
The latest buzz doing the rounds today is that the hump has found a way of going back on one of his decisions without looking a complete idiot,he now thinks it would make good sense to put televisions back in pubs as its world cup year,a big sporting event would boost his profits a lot.Lets hope this is not just another brewery rumour and he has at last seen the error of his ways.

Really would be a great idea, but for some reason i will take it with a pinch of salt. Mr h lives on his own planet and i doubt he even knows there is a world cup on this year.

You really don't know Sams that well, do you! There is no chance of postive
change within the company while Humphrey is in charge. There is more chance of the smoking ban being lifted or the supermarkets being held to account for irresponsible discounting of alcohol.

The [removed by admin] "rumour" thing is usually a good source of info in my experience, not that I can ever see Humph suddenly making a complete U turn and spending millions putting tv's back in every pub...but in selected pubs, maybe.

A LOT OF RUMOURS THAT START WITH THE [removed by admin] TEND TO TURN OUT TO HAVE SOME TRUTH TO THEM,THE CRISPS STARTED HAS A RUMOUR A LONG TIME AGO AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED.THATS JUST ONE EXAMPLE BUT THERE ARE NUMOROUS OTHER ONES THAT TURNED OUT TO BE TRUE.
AS FAR AS HUMPH IS CONCERNED WHO KNOWS WHAT HELL DO NEXT,IM SURE HE DOESNT HAVE A CLUE EITHER.......BECAUSE I KNOW HIS AREA MANAGERS DONT.

Well done for your loyalty to Sams passedit! but on what level of arrogance do you assume that you have served longer or have better conections to the brewery?? Is this the level it has come down to if you stray from the status quo on this site, you get accused of being someone else (12trees) and from this RUMOUR insults come " ONLY ME do you have Dutch Elm disease as well" Well done!
If you truely know the brewery, you should know that since CB was forced out and all but 2 area managers left, Humphrey has had direct control of the managed house estate, (albeit with the advice of the little green goblin)this is when the really bad policies started , no entertiament what so ever, food franchises taken away without recompence and then being told to serve over priced microwaved food, no funding or food for your pub teams, monthly cleaning budget slashed, 5% surplus on your draught beers, and staff hours being cut by half or more.
RE. SILLYSOD The crisp supplier change is NOT A UTURN IN HIS POLICIE BUT A NEW POLICY HE HAS BROUGHT IN, AND PLEASE ENLIGHTEN US OF THE OTHER UTURNS IN STANDING POLICIES

Guys - can we all calm down and use some of this energy to enlighten those of us who don't work for the brewery - for instance we are trying to piece together just how big the SSOB empire is - mention has been made of the 'managed house estate' - it would be very helpful if we knew how big the franchised estate was - can any of you guys name some please? - are the social clubs owned or franchised?

Cheers.

The big debate - and rumour!!

Unity

As Bigjim rightly points out - let's all calm down a bit.  :)

I can quite understand that those visiting this site to contribute - will often have been influenced by current policies - or just a 'bad day' - in both instances usually brought about (directly or indirectly) by Humphrey Smith.

Ultimately, it is in my opinion (although I believe most of you would agree) that Humphrey Smith is the number one enemy - and we should concentrate our efforts and frustrations on addressing this issue. I'm sure Humphs would love to divide and conquer - when our main weapon of defence is solidarity.

All of this is somewhat reminiscent of tyrannical leaders of countries - who only remain in power, due to the absence or destruction of any true democracy. Usually, such leaders are only remembered for their cruelty and evil. What a legacy for a family that had built up such a good reputation, and earned such loyalty. I'm amazed that the rest of the family are either, 1) supportive of Humphs tyrannical regime - or, 2) too weak to do anything about it.

Rumour

When things are tough, people will naturally pay much more attention to any rumour. Some sources are obviously more reliable than others. And even rumours based on fact, can become outdated as situations can rapidly change.

Using these forums to compare, discuss and debate theories and rumours - can be a good and constructive move.
But please let's not divulge sources of information (even if just rumour), so that we can protected everyone (and sources of information) from Smith - who as we all should know, hates the flow of information - and can prove to be highly vengeful and vindictive - fact!

As stress is obviously running high, as individuals fight or fear for the future of their livelihood, family security, and social community - maybe I could cash in on the situation, and get some 'stress dolls' manufactured and sold though the website. You know the ones - those with Velcroed  limbs that can be ripped-off, to satisfy some anger and frustration. These dolls could be custom made to resemble any individual.

Which reminds me, has anyone found a recent photo of Humphs yet!  ;)
Always in support of the Samuel Smiths Brewery - although very concerned about the current company strategy towards its staff and customers, as exercised by the Directors. We believe in promoting common sense, decency, compassion, fairness and compliance with company, employment and English law.

So i have got it all wrong. Lets see! The topic is tv's back in pubs (based on rumour), then my reply pionts out that this is will most defiantly not happen, my reasoning being formed from over 25 years as a manager for Sams and having many meetings with Humphery over the last years with brewery when he became our area manager, ( we realised that we could not talk, deal or rationalise with someone who doesn't think on our plane of exsistance, so we left Sams , but i still deal with the brewery in my new job.) After my reply everybody jumps on the old band wagon of he's a spy, or he's a brewery plant!! lets ridicule and lambaste him. as regarding sillysods rant about necks and ability to comprehend. This topic is about a uturn in brewery policy regarding entertianment albeit rumour and not just about rumours of a change of crisp supplier or a rumour that they are making a Tia Maria equivelant. The point about people not knowing about Sams and how "he" works is based on the fact that the new disposable manager and of no fault of their own, usually dosen't know a barrel from a cask or a soft peg from a sparkler, they recieve no company induction and minimal training.
