I was  told by a good source that Planters are supplying the nuts but I was not aware that they made crisps. I know it does not really matter who makes them, I was just curious!

From reading all the background on this site, surely all the nuts are sourced at LS24 9SB? :-*

:P What is all this rubbish, most of you lot moaning on here about the Smith family wouldn't be capable of carrying a candle for them. You live in a lovely environment, jobs, for most. What do you want? dog fights in the car parks, lap dancing clubs, more takeaways, well done I say to the Smiths, keep up the good work.

Dracula - may I respectfully ask you these questions..

1) Do you regularly drink in any Sams pubs?

2) And if so, do you ever engage in conversation with the management or staff?

3) You you appreciate the legal requirement for a minimum wage?

5) Do you think it should be right for someone with inherited wealth, and little signs of any empathy or compassion (maybe due to a mental health problem) continually flout English law, and escape justice due to utilizing that wealth for protection (e.g. exploiting local authority legal budgets through constant legal, and non-nonsensical challengers)?

I supposed being blinkered, must have its advantages. Sadly, such individuals in our society, are often the ones who would look the other way, whilst others are attacked or persecuted. What holocaust?!  :(

dracula obviously hasnt lived in one of the pub flats then, lovely enviroment -you must be joking, decor that you cant alter, bad plumbing to name just a couple of faults.
i know wot id do with the candle though and it wouldnt be carry it,as far as im concerned humph isnt capable of carrying a candle for his managers and staff because he couldnt run a pub.
work for all,the managers are living in permanant fear for there jobs, many having to pay up every stocktake because they havent hit a unrealalistic surplus on both wet and food, and thats on poor wages

1. Saml Smiths products are the finest or sourced from the finest suppliers, though we will never know for sure the Single Malt is probably Glen Moray (sister distillery to Glenmorangie). The Irish is almost certainly Bushmills 10 yr old, The crisps are more than likely Smiths Crisps, from Cricklewood, which would follow that the nuts are Nobbys.

2. When SDams renovate a property no expence is spared their restoration is of the highest standard.

and

Max in your questions to Dracula, what was point number 4?

Dracula, have a look at this BBC video:

I am not saying it is balanced, but it certainly is interesting.

Max in your questions to Dracula, what was point number 4?

I was trying to ascertain if Dracula had ever experienced first-hand, the opinions of Sams managers and staff. It may be that Dracula has indeed experienced a venue with happy management and staff - and therefore is unaware (if not believing the testament of others at this site) of what all the "moaning" is all about.

There is little doubt that the 'brewery's bricks and mortar' is very well looked after - as you would expect as a major (if not majority) company asset. It's just a little sad that the same level of investment is not made (as used to be) in the staff, management, and customer relations.

Interesting point about renovations. A Sams pub close to me recently had a refurb. No expense spared? Don't make me bloody laugh! The cowboys that did it didn't even fill holes in the wall in and painted over hooks and nails and did a generally tatty job which even the pub drunk would have done better. Then, Bodgeitandscarper plumbers left a leaking cistern as part of a generally shoddy job. The floorers did a decent job though.

When Widow Cullen's Well was purchased and done up, SS bought an entire quarry to supply the stone!

Varying and inconsistency seems to be the SS theme, with pubs, food and beer.

To clarify, I didn't mean that the beer itself was inconsistent, just the distribution of!  That is, OBB and Alpine can't be bought in every pub, therefore the distribution of the beer is inconsistent!  Hope that makes that one clearer!

Time-served regulars to this site will be well aware of the legal battles Humphrey regularly engages in with Selby District Council - I wonder if there is any connection with the level of Council Tax charged by Selby - ?1,055 for a Band A property? This seems steep to me and certainly more than large surrounding cities - if this is one of the results of Mr Smith's contribution to Tadcasters economy, the residents would seem to be paying a high price for his personal vendetta's. What do the residents feel?
