Early closing this Friday?
« on: Mar 30 - 2010 »
I've just heard that our illustrious new manager has said that he has to call time at 10.30pm on this coming Friday 2nd April. Which will probably mean 'lights-out' 5 minutes later!

Does anyone know if it's the same at any other Sam's pubs - or has he got it wrong (again)?
These are sad times :(

Good Friday and xmas day are the only two days that closing times have to be 10. 30 by law :-\ unless the laws have changed ?

Legal opening times.
Good Friday. 12noon -1030. unless extended by local council.
Christmas day 12noon-3.00pm & 7.00 -1030. sams get 1/2 day off. Cannot see any problem with that. :-*Thank you for being a law abiding citizen :-*

It doesn't worry me if the pub closes early; what I worry about is if the pub will open again!!!!!!!!!!!
Curiouser and curiouser.  :o

The term legal opening hoursis incorrect
Permitted Opening Hours is the correct terminology
Therefore It is up to the individuual license when they open/close.
or should I say when they are told to open and close by mein dictator.  :'(
For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who don't understand, no explanation is possible.

The Area Manager confirms the hours over xmas,  my local are told not to open on Christmas Day night.  They work hard enough for four people on the three hours they do open, they don't have time to sit down, so I don't begrudge them one night off over Xmas.

Permitted hours are displayed in all houses for all to see, read them please. Permitted hours granted by the councils are the legal hours. They also state, the premises may play music. None of the managed houses have individual premises license holders This license is held at the various head offices. The manager personal license holder has no control over actual opening hours or provision of anything else that the premises license may state. These acts are all allowedby the owner? :-*

Now I've just been told that they are calling time at Nellie's (White Horse, Beverley) at 10.30 this evening (Easter Monday). Is this also true of other Sam's hostelries?
These are sad times :(
