If the details in this article are true, I can understand why there are no TV's in Sam Smith's pubs.  Working on the figures given, it would cost just short of ?3.500,000 for 6 months of showing football in all there 320 pubs.

I can't think of anything else that can be cut to prevent the price of Samuel Smith's beer rising beyond tax increases....oh, maybe the temperature in the pubs will be regulated by Humphrey Smith in order to save money on heating bills.
