As far as i know The  Harewood Arms, The Admiral Hawke The Fox and Hounds and The Crown do not serve food anymore.

Ian, reading some of the posts on here it seems that one or two of the pubs are going back to real food...I've never been in the George and Vulture in London yet, but they seem to have a real food menu...I'll post the photo of it when I am home and SS foodies will be able to compare it and tell us what they think!

When the menu was first brought out there was a problem with the pies, but they have improved a lot recently,I seldom get a complaint about any of the food i serve only compliments, The Sunday Lunches are picking up now and the fact that we can now use fresh veg all the time instead of frozen can only improve the dishes. I now feel happier doing the food since the return of the Sunday Roasts and the fresh veg.

Thankyou bistodog that would explain it. I must say the smell of the cooking at the Railway inn, was very good and he did have a specials board up. I was very tempted but did not have the time.

They are bringing a new menu out in June and they are including a vegan dish on it, not sure what? will have to wait till the menu's arrive. Then i'll up date you.

Just one thing, the George & Vulture isn't actually a pub, it's a restaurant owned by SS in the City of London that's only open Monday to Friday, only serves SS beer and other products, hence the non-ping pie menu.

I understand.  The point that I am elluding to is that there is no reason that an SS pub cannot do similar food.

I'm guessing it used to operate as a pub: does anyone have any history on it?

The Steak and Kidney Pie at ?10.95!  Yes!  Not suitable for vegans!  How much is it in ordinary pubs?  Do the food prices vary across the country?
