Humphrey's briefcase.
« on: Jul 1 - 2010 »
Was told today by a ex employee that Humphrey went into one of his pubs. (if members want to know pub, then PM me) He left his briefcase on the bar and some of the regulars took it.  He had to buy a pint for everybody in the bar before he got it back.

Do not know if it's true, but I do hope so.

Does he own a briefcase, I have only ever seen him carrying a Sainsbury's plastic bag.

Never seen him with even a plastic bag - on occasions, just blue folders from the back seat of his car.  Somehow don't think he is professional enough to use either a real briefcase or a disposable one (Plastic bag).

Can't imagine him buying drinks either.

In all the years I have worked for Sam's I have never seen him with a briefcase.  When he first became our area manager, he used to come in with our financial print-outs screwed up under his arm.  His notebook is bits of buck-shee paper he has in his pocket.  But most recently he came here with a folder with all(every pubs, it seems) the financial computer print-outs in it. Talk about going up market ;) Trouble is he doesn't really know how to read them. He just singles a certain thing out and tries to give the impression that he knows all about it. We have caught him out on a couple of occassions. Again, the trouble then is that he tries to lie his way out of it and becomes very agitated.

The blue printout folder seems to be his briefcase. He tends to buy a half everywhere he goes but buying a round for the lads would probably finish him off!
