Could anyone let me know who i need to contact to apply for a pub managers job for Sam Smiths??Or does anyone have a list of pubs looking for managers?? Thanks.

This is a serious question - you will no doubt have read what sort of employer Samuel Smith currently is - so could you give us a hint as to why you would want to work for them? I so wish you might be a researcher for the BBC or C4 - now that would put the wind up Humphrey Smith!!

To answer your question - they seem to place small ads in local papers anonymously - no doubt as a way of cutting costs yet further.

I find it unbelievable that SS really expects people to apply without putting the name of the brewery.  Either he is worried about SS reputation or he is trying to catch cheesed off managers out.

Lala ... Take a good look at this site... read all the posts from managers and customers alike... the company is in self distruct.... the owner is a complete lunatic. He employs genuinely interested people to work from dusk till dawn, sets ridiculous targets, withdraws staff hours at the drop of a hat, makes rules and regulations that the rest of us are still trying to work out the benefits to the business etc.
Take my advice, and that of other managers on this site, look elsewhere for a pub.
If you ignore my advice then please keep your home, never let it go because if things don't work out for you then you have the means of escape. Many of our managers want out but have no home and therefore are trapped.

There is 2 Harewood Arms near Leeds. Just make sure which one is wanting a new manager.

As far as aware both the Harewood Arms Hotel,Harewood is in the advert and also the Harewood Arms,Folifoot are both looking for new managers. The one at Folifoot has not had a manager for several months now, i had heard that one of the new managers was meant to get it but has probably not.

Have heard that the manager at the Kings Arms,York was told to reduce staff hours and therefore left.Not sure who is running this pub now

I visited the Kings Arms twice last weekend whilst working in York. It seemed to me a young couple were running the place. Verdict - only Taddy no Alpine (Bad); Manager? sorted the loudmouth ass kicking off on a busy watch calmly, effectively and with minimum disruption (full marks).

Could anyone tell me who to contact about becoming the manager in either the Spread Eagle at Wragby when its finished, or The Lord of The Manor at Crofton or would this be asking too much for a "novice".

Again - regulars on here simply do not understand why anyone would want to work for this company at the present time, especially when it seems to be most unlikely that you will last till your first anniversary!
