 ??? A college has been  me told that they , have to accept a new contract , and if they don't they will get a warning !!! As we know 3 and your sacked , i cant go into too much detail ,because i don't want the person involved to get into any trouble . Its disgusting how they have been treated , they have worked for the company for 10years.I will keep you informed , i wish i could give you more details , if it were about me i would  May be when i tell them about this site , they will tell them self's

Breeching confidentiality, can be construed as gross misconduct, and therefore grounds for INSTANTdismissal.

Divulging an official verbal or written warning (unless inclusive of information protected under the OSA) is not breaching any confidentiality - if the recipient wishes to disclose details to, his/her solicitor, trade union representative (or a friend/other representative who can be present at any such/associated meetings), the media, or even the members of the public.

Of course HS and the gang, would love all to keep quiet, regarding any actions he's threatening/taking - especially when it would appear if any laws are being abused, it's by the actions of the brewery.

Finally - warnings are not, and should not be confidential - the only people who do that kind of thing, are law- breakers, such as Black Mailers - or those threatening with menace!

One further point - just because you are asked, forced, or encouraged to sign a contract of employment, doesn't automatically mean that the contract is legally binding - especially if some or a part of its content is in itself, illegal - or could be considered unreasonable by a judge, in a court of law, or employment tribunal.

years ago when us oldies opted out of the 48 hour week we were told we could change our minds at anytime, so what would happen if we decided to opt back in to the 48 hour week can they legally sack us, reduce our pay, maybe one of the union reps could advise, sometimes i wonder just when we will get a full 24 hours off, without it being part of a holiday it must be fantastic to have a full weekend off like the area managers stocktakers dreymen and admin.

i have been with sams quite a few years  and i have been asked to sign a new contract. i rang acas and they advised me that if i didn`t want to sign it then i couldn,t be made too  guess what  ,i ain`t signed it  so will keep u posted

it's good to see some activity.

has anybody read the manager's "job description" in the reference manual? was it written by a different company?

who are all these staff we're responsible for? bar persons, cellar persons, cleaners, etc. no need to mention chefs or cooks any more.

as for the main purpose of the job, that must also have been written by a different company!

i gree it is nice to see someone using there brains and getting acas involved , i dont know how often this needs to be said but you do not have to put up with the way you are being treated, join a union, pass this web-site on, and dont bottle things up talk. one of humps best tools is isolation, when the tv's were taken out years ago, the managerial reps from lancs & yorks got together and wrote a letter to him giving him all the reasons why managers felt it was a bad idea. after the silly reply he sent everyone, he completley split the areas so that we would not know what was going on in lancs, and the family days were cancelled he thought if he could stop us talking we would accept what he says and let him lead us like sheep to the slaughter. well there has been enough slaughter, i have seen good managers and area managers lose there jobs, homes and futures because of this person. isnt it time we really stood up and were counted.
