Why do they want rid of all of their experienced managers, completely baffling, I cant believe its just the pension issue cos it if it is then putting idiots in charge, who's only interest is the free accomodation and seemingly free booze on tap....whats the cost of that= even more disgruntled customers going elswhere, changes of managers probably every time a stocktake is done, and all causing themselves more and more work and stress....totally bizarre!!

The loonatics have taken over the assylum..............

Its all about wages thats all fob knows and all hes taught the chuckles. Spend less on wages and your bottom line looks good, for a short while then as is becoming obvious standards start to drop as good managers havnt got the time in their day to get those littlle jobs done before they're on the bar as glorified barstaff customers don't like waiting and then don't return.
Minimum wage went up again this week watch out they'll be around again soon if not allready. :(
For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

they are too interested in managers pushing the budget airline food they call a menu and the wet net take.
i don't think they even look at the surplus/deficit %
i know for sure (100%)a pub near me has posted very low surplus (0.5%) and even minus and still in charge .
MONKEYS WITH AN OBVIOUS DRINK PROBLEM OR DODGY STAFF LOOKING AFTER A ONCE GREAT PUB.......
OPEN YOUR EYES MR CHUCKLE

NO WONDER BH IS NOW WORKING FOR JW LEES
HE LEFT BEFORE ALL THE SH*T HIT THE FAN, WHAT A LUCKY GUY

MR SMITH WHY DONT YOU LISTEN TO AND LOOK AFTER YOUR BEST STAFF.

Its the age old problem of an accountant trying to be an OPERATIONS manager, they only ever see money and if relying on a "good bottom line" then not even a good accountant at that.

If any of us had our own business and we followed their "business plan" (jeez I would love to see their business plan by the way) we would go under in a matter of months, its only because they have so much capital, property and land that they can do it their way.

Suicidal management in anyones book, surprising behaviour considering how long the company has been trading, you'd think they would know better.

sams have lost so many good managers and area managers, this company is crumbling, and i cant believe it , it was such a good company to work for. if someone reads my mail that is an offence and is punishable by a prison term, so if sams hack into this site isnt that the same. i thought we had freedom of speech in england.

I can  reassure everyone - there's nothing illegal happening on this site - I wont let that happen. Unfortunately, some people aren't so bothered about keeping on the right side of the law. What goes around - comes around!  ;)
Always in support of the Samuel Smiths Brewery - although very concerned about the current company strategy towards its staff and customers, as exercised by the Directors. We believe in promoting common sense, decency, compassion, fairness and compliance with company, employment and English law.
