This was the news that has just reached me this afternoon..

Mr Humphrey Smith - allegedly accused of sex discrimination!

It has been claimed, from more than one usually reliable source, that a senior female member of the Samuel Smiths Brewery staff, has instigated legal proceedings, against H R W Smith, for alleged sex discrimination.

It is also alleged, that the complainant, has audio recordings to back up her claims.

Obviously, we will aim to confirm the accuracy of such allegations - and update within this thread. Also, if anyone else can confirm these claims, or has any further information, then please post here.

Always in support of the Samuel Smiths Brewery - although very concerned about the current company strategy towards its staff and customers, as exercised by the Directors. We believe in promoting common sense, decency, compassion, fairness and compliance with company, employment and English law.

Since the original post, I have received further information, suggesting the allegations are based on sex discrimination claims - and not sexual harassment, as earlier reported. Although I still have no total clarification, I have amended the original post.

It has also be suggested, that since the alleged victim became a mother, various messages were left on the alleged victims answerphone, relating to the difficulties of balancing motherhood, with work.

More details regarding Sex Discrimination Legislation (relating to women) - which states 'Everyone should be able to balance work and family life' - Something which Mr S might want to familiarize himself with!! There again, I was told that Mrs S, is sent out to work as a dinner lady, at a school - surely not!?  ::)
