From what I'm aware of, you are very much not on your own. Furthermore, I've heard things could get very much worse - with a lot of loyal managers been given the boot!

This is why I put this site together. HS makes it difficult for managers/staff/customers to communicate - especially with websites being banned. Through this facility, at least you have a fighting chance to communicate with each other - and if necessarily, fight as one.

If anyone can pass on our web address to others - then all the better. You can use the 'tell a friend' on the home page, tell anyone that if they Google 'samsmiths' (one word) we're at the top - or just phone them.

Use our search facility to locate other sams venues, and their respective phone numbers.
Always in support of the Samuel Smiths Brewery - although very concerned about the current company strategy towards its staff and customers, as exercised by the Directors. We believe in promoting common sense, decency, compassion, fairness and compliance with company, employment and English law.

Beleive me you are not alone - all areas of Sams are being hit hard. It has an huge effect not just on customers, staff and managers but on the families of those involved too. It is people livelihoods that are being messed with too as well as thier much loved local. I beleive that it will get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better. Fantastic managers and staff who pour thier heart and soul into the business are being pushed out for no reason. Well HS it is your loss and to use this wonderful business as your plaything will be your downfall. I also recommend that HS goes to night school to study English as his grammar and spelling are appalling!!!
Great idea for this site, will recommend it to everyone I know who is associated with Sams.

When I started over 20 years ago Sams was a very good company to work for;the area managers were approachable[ not the Troll] unfortunetly there are not many left. The pubs now are so depressing with managers having to slash costs to the bone especially staff.Has any manager got a pay rise are wasn,t your performance good enough,Iv,e spoken to four who are friends and none got a pay rise two of them beat the previous years retail profit by quite a lot, Hump let your son take over before you totally ruin your ancestors business.

Well today Grumpy Humpy gave us the boot! Said he came to do a stocktake and cash check, but we've just found out that he had relief managers in place 15 mins before he even entered the premises!!!!!
When he told us that we were fired he gave us a "couple" of hours to remove ourselfs and our property from the premises..... Thats everything we own as well as sort our 2 very young children!!!
Humph has definatly proved himself to be the heartless man that he is as when i said to him "where do you expect us to go at this short notice" he replied "thats not my problem!"..... when i said to him "fine i'll grap a sleeping bag and sleep on the streets with my babies" he replied "you can take your daughters quilt!!!"

Humpty numpty has took every penny we had including the bond... Wages.... and ?500 that was in a clearly marked envelope from my father as a present!!!! So not only are we now homeless but pennyless too!! It seems no matter how much you mae for this man and how hard you work its never good enough!!!

I wonder who stole his concience coz if i did what he did today i wouldn't be able to sleep at night!!!
Looks like the Grinch is out early this year!!!

cookoo surely what you have just said cannot be true, that sort of thing may have happened in 1908 but not 2008, take him to court. If it was me I would have refused to budge and with children the law would be on your side.

All is true... when my husband said to phone the police,(to remove us) humph said " it wont be the police i'll phone"

We grabbed what we could last night... mainly the childrens clothes and bedding and humph said to us "You leave your property here at YOUR risk!! and told the new managers to give us no more than 4 hours today to get the remaining stuff!! So thats 4 hours to arrange a removals van, pack up our life, dismantle beds etc and get it out!! For goodness sake it took me 4 days to pack up our home when we got the job!!!!

If we didnt have the children we'd of stayed put, but i have 2 small children and i couldnt but them in any danger!

Me and my husband loved working in the pub where we was but after what i witnessed in humph yesterday im glad we're out of it! I wouldnt want to work for that man again!!

am i reading this correctly? why did you budge? he has no right to throw you out. we're not living in the congo. how many warnings were you given? how much notice? you should have stayed put and got the local or national papers involved. as for your cash, if your float didn't tally, not a lot you can do. why did you give him access to your safe anyway? i don't know what to say, but you should certainly not have moved out. no court would throw you & your kids out on the streets. good luck for the future.

ice

xxx.

p.s. how long have you worked for smiths & have you joined the gmb?

You need to get in touch with your union or if you are not a member with ACAS as soon as possible.

Can I also suggest you get in touch with the Charity Shelter to see what your rights are, I am sure the fact you have children will have a bearing on your case.  In fact I am pretty sure you cannot be evicted without having a reasonable amount of time to ensure the safety of your children.

http://england.shelter.org.uk/

I cannot believe that in the 21st Century anybody should behave in this manner.  We do not live in Soviet Russia.

I hope you have the strength to fight this, and I hope you take up Admins offer.  This man needs to be stopped
