A Great Big Thumbs UP
As a previous manager of a Sam Smith?s pub, who like a lot of you got taken for a ride. I would like to point out a management couple who are getting it right.
All too often the bad outshines the good and I would like to set it right there are lots of couples who are doing a really sterling job despite humph-a-dumphs interference.
The Pub in question (as they wish to keep their pub off this site) is a small pub out in the wiles.
We were doing some relief for another company and finding out there was a Sam smith?s pub in the village we decided to take a walk down to see what it was like.
We walked in and were greeted by a big smile from the Landlord who was behind the bar, the place was full of loyal customers all having a great time, the beer was flowing and the dominoes were reaching a tense conclusion. One of the locals who we?d been chatting to in the pub we were doing relief in then let the cat out of the bag and told Landlord that we were ex Sam Smiths managers and we had a great laugh chatting about all things Sam?s related, his Good Lady then came down and we had a nice natter with her too.
The beer was perfect, I drink cask bitter and have had many pints bad and good, and this landlord kept his Old Brewery Bitter perfectly. And the other half had no complaints about his Alpine.
The Pub was lovely, clean, tidy warm and welcoming with a wonderful real fire burning warm and welcoming. Everyone was greeted with a smile, The Landlord and his Mrs. Really cared about their Pub and took great pride in their work.
