I was until recently an employee of Smiths, since the death of my husband I have done a relief (single) for them. Absolutely appalled at the new menu, know it won't go well in my old pub, and it's certainly killed the one at the relief I just did.
FOB by the way was a stocktaker in the early 80's for Grand Met, or as it was then under the banner of Chef and Brewer. He has since denied this to my late husband and myself, but believe me he was, in those days, hated.
His nickname was THE JOLLY GREEN GIANT, obvious connotations to his lack of height, but he also used to wear (for years actually) a Green Suit!! Please whilst I am on here, let me submit this to your site, thank you
