Having left the employ of SS, the feeling of relief is incredible. The effects of having to work several days a week without staff were showing in our health and also our behaviour.
A handwritten letter from HS, specifying his expected performance levels together with the threat of dismissal if not complied with were, in effect, the last straw for us.
Morals do apply to management, and ours do not allow for ripping off the customers, which is basically the only way SS targets can be achieved.
We are now unemployed but, our heads are held high and our future is in our own hands not in the control of a bullying tyrant.
My advice is, if you can get out, do it.
How many London managers have departed, or considering it since the arrival of HS? would be interesting to know the truth.
This is my debut on this site although I have been a viewer of postings for some time. I have much to say but will leave it for now.

Sorry to hear about your experiences with Humph, if you look back on this site you will see all the warnings that things were changing as far back as 12 to 18 months ago, maybe even longer and realistically it was only a matter of time before he started on the southern region.

If its any consellation at all there will be loads more in the same position very soon, if I can offer my condolences and my advice too,  seek legal advice if you think you have been bullied or coherced into jacking it but be very prepared for a fight because the t--t does not give in easily.

I am sure you will find another brewery/pub chain who may appreciate your management acumen but unfortunately the industry is sadly in a bit of a mess and it doesn't look like getting any better in a hurry.

Thanks maddog, your words are much appreciated.
we were aware of all the happenings, however, you tend not to fully comprehend things until you experience them firsthand.
We feel fortunate to be free of the SS empire. We tried our best but it became apparrent that nothing would ever be good enough.
We left for our own reasons and since our departure further events have transpired and indeed MANY others will leave SS, either by choice or by HS design.
